Eric Campbell

Executive Director

Eric Campbell is Executive Director of the Clean Economy Fund, where he is responsible for connecting the philanthropic community with bold initiatives that support giant leaps toward a net-zero, climate-friendly future.

Eric has been initiating conversations, nurturing partnerships and building diverse coalitions in Canada’s climate space for more than 15 years. He has worked with the business and finance community through initiatives like the Task Force for a Resilient Recovery (2020) and the Smart Prosperity Leaders coalition (2016-2022); collaborated with cities on community-level climate solutions through QUEST (2012-2016); guided start-ups in the clean energy and carbon removal sectors (2019-2022); and served as Communications Director to Canada’s environment minister to usher in landmark policies like carbon pricing and the Low Carbon Economy Fund (2018-2019). Eric also hosted Canada’s most-listened-to green economy podcast from 2019-2022.

Eric has an M.A. in Education & Society from McGill University and a B.A. in Environmental Policy and Economics from University of Toronto. When not at his desk, Eric is hiking up hills, playing ball hockey with his kids, and searching for the perfect chocolate chip cookie.

Aimee Poulin

Manager, Donor Accounts and Administration

Aimee Poulin is Manager of Donor Accounts and Administration at the Clean Economy Fund, where she is responsible for supporting the philanthropic community with resources and funding vehicles to support high-impact climate initiatives.

Aimee has been working in the charitable sector for many years, particularly in the arts where she has led and administered a number of bootstrap not-for-profit theatre and arts initiatives. This includes several years acting as General Manager of Crane Creations, where she worked with a community of donors to sustain a beloved Mississauga theatre company, including through two years of pandemic restrictions. Aimee also coordinated a Canada-wide initiative to help low-income arts workers with digital skills development and guided organizations in navigating and securing tax benefits. Aimee continues to exercise her love for the arts by serving on the Board of Directors of UNIMA Canada, which is part of a global network of organizations advancing the puppetry arts, where she frequently represents Canadian puppetry professionals internationally.

Aimee is a certified not-for-profit accounting professional and has completed the Certificate in Non-Profit and Charity Financial Compliance and Strategy through CPA Ontario. Outside of work Aimee can be found enjoying a strong double shot of espresso, training for an upcoming half marathon, and bird watching on Lake Ontario.

Ersilia Serafini

Board of Directors (Chair)

Ersilia Serafini is President & CEO of Summerhill Group, one of Canada’s leading developers and deployers of energy efficiency and demand response programs. She is Director on the Board of Ontario’s Independent Electricity Systems Operator (IESO), an active member and Past Chair of the Toronto Chapter of the Young Presidents Organization, and recognized as one of Canada’s Top 100 Female Entrepreneurs by Profit Magazine.

 

Bruce Lourie

Board of Directors

Bruce Lourie is President of the Ivey Foundation, a private charitable foundation established in 1947 with the mission to improve the well-being of Canadians. Bruce is a best-selling author, policy expert, social entrepreneur and award-winning global sustainability leader. He is also a Senior Fellow of the Smith School of Business and Adjunct Professor of the School of Policy Studies, at Queen’s University, and guest lecturer at the Said Business School Social Finance Program at University of Oxford.

 

Patricia Letizia

Board of Directors

Pat Letizia is President & CEO of Alberta Ecotrust, a long-standing and critical source of funding, training, and skill building for Alberta’s environmental community. She was a founding director and past chair of the Calgary Chamber of Voluntary Organizations as well as Environment Funders Canada, where she served three separate terms as Chair. She currently co-chairs the Leader’s Council for the Alberta Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Initiative – an advisory committee to the Alberta Minister of Culture and Status of Women. She received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for her collective contributions to the community and was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Alberta Emerald Foundation.

 

Robert Spencer

Board of Directors

Robert Spencer is a member of the Donner Canadian Foundation and has served as a governor of the Foundation for various terms since 1985. He has over 30 years of experience providing economic and financial consulting services to local and regional public agencies primarily in California. Mr. Spencer is founder and principal of Urban Economics. His work includes assisting state and local agencies with the financial challenges implementing climate adaptation plans and projects.

 

J.P. Toussaint

Board of Directors

Jean-Patrick Toussaint is Senior Director of the Climate Program at the Trottier Family Foundation, now the largest climate funder among family foundations in Canada.

Trained as a biologist, J.P. has worked with many distinguished national and international NGOs, including the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, Future Earth and the David Suzuki Foundation. J.P. also writes regularly for Québec Science and sits on various committees at Ouranos, the Canadian Climate Institute, and CIRANO’s Avant Garde.

Jane Rabinowicz

Board of Directors

Jane Rabinowicz is President & CEO of the McConnell Foundation, one of Canada’s largest and longest-serving family foundations.  

Jane has held leadership roles in the non-profit sector for more than 20 years, primarily in the fields of seed and food sovereignty. Prior to joining the McConnell Foundation, she worked with organizations including Santropol Roulant, Equiterre and SeedChange. Jane also serves on the Boards of Directors of the Foundation of Greater Montreal, MakeWay, Centraide du Grand-Montréal, and others. 

Philippe Dunsky

Dunsky Energy + Climate

Philippe is Founder & President of Dunsky Energy + Climate, a national and sector-leading advisory firm based in Montreal. 

As a trusted adviser to both executives and policymakers, Philippe helps organizations chart the course toward decarbonization without losing sight of economic imperatives. His experience spans the full array of solutions across both energy supply and demand (buildings, mobility and industry).

In 2023, Philippe was appointed Chair of the Canada Electricity Advisory Council. He is also Co-Chair of Efficiency Canada and a member of the Electrifying Canada Taskforce, among other positions. Philippe was recognized in 2021 as one of Canada’s Clean50 leaders, and in 2022 as one of North America’s Top 100 Impact CEOs.

Richard Florizone

President Emeritus of Dalhousie University & Distinguished Fellow at IISD

Richard Florizone is President Emeritus of Dalhousie University and a Distinguished Fellow of the International Institute for Sustainable Development, where he also served as CEO from 2020 to 2023.

Part scientist and part strategist, Richard has a track record of creating major partnerships to achieve transformative change.

In addition to his appointments at IISD and Dalhousie, Richard spent two decades in influential roles with the Boston Consulting Group, Bombardier Aerospace, the International Finance Corporation of the World Bank Group, Cambridge University and the University of Saskatchewan.

Claire Seaborn

Counsel at Torys LLP

Claire Seaborn is counsel at Torys LLP, where she recently resumed her career in law after five years in executive roles at the Government of Canada.

Most recently Claire served as Chief of Staff to the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, where she led transformative policy efforts such as the Clean Electricity Strategy, the Critical Minerals Strategy and the Sustainable Jobs Plan.

Claire also served as Director of Policy and Legal Affairs to the Minister of Infrastructure and Communities, and as Senior Legal and Regulatory Affairs Advisor to the Minister of Environment and Climate Change.

Claire has also spent time working on commercial arbitration and investor-state disputes in the energy and construction sectors, and was a consultant for the International Bar Association’s Presidential Task Force on Climate Change and Human Rights.
