Our goal is simple: to triple the amount of climate philanthropy in Canada \u2013 from $100 million to more than $300 million annually, by 2030 \u2013 and to help that philanthropy achieve maximum impact.<\/p><h5>ABOUT THE POSITION<\/h5><p>Clean Economy Fund is seeking an energetic team member who will help grow our philanthropic impact in Canada\u2019s climate change space. The successful candidate will support the foundation\u2019s grant-making and operations by carrying out due diligence on high-impact projects, administering grant agreements, and tracking our progress. The candidate will also work with Clean Economy Fund\u2019s donors and funding partners to provide convening opportunities and to deploy funds.<\/p><h5>KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY<\/h5><p>1. Managing donor accounts and engagement<\/p><ul><li>Drafting and submitting grant proposals to existing funding partners and prospective donors and managing all subsequent reporting requirements<\/li><li>Tracking incoming and outgoing grants in coordination with CEF\u2019s bookkeeper and accountant<\/li><li>Sending project updates and communicating impact to funders<\/li><li>Aiding in the design and delivery of learning opportunities for CEF\u2019s funder network, including webinars, discussions and in-person events<\/li><li>Overseeing filing of CEF\u2019s grant documentation, including confirmation letters and reporting templates, to ensure CEF is abiding by Canada Revenue Agency guidelines<\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>2. Supporting CEF\u2019s grant-making<\/p><ul><li>Identifying potential recipients and conducting due diligence on potential grant recipients in coordination with the Chief Impact Officer<\/li><li>Drafting, coordinating and monitoring grant agreements<\/li><li>Managing fund transfer schedules and overseeing the transfer of funds to grant recipients, in coordination with CEF\u2019s bookkeeper and accountant<\/li><li>Assisting with the project management for CEF\u2019s in-house initiatives, including coordinating project partners and tracking budgets<\/li><li>Monitoring projects being funded by CEF and liaising with grant recipients to ensure projects are meeting their objectives<\/li><li>Tracking impact and assisting with the development of storytelling to communicate impact<\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>3. Providing general and financial administrative support<\/p><ul><li>Tracking CEF and project revenues and expenses to ensure effective budget leadership, while following and upholding all official CEF policies<\/li><li>Reviewing financial statements, in coordination with the Bookkeeper, to ensure accurate accounting and financial reporting<\/li><li>Preparing active grant reports and financial statements for the Board of Directors on a quarterly basis<\/li><li>Quarterbacking CEF\u2019s annual audit of financial statements<\/li><li>Supporting major in-house initiatives, like the New Economy Canada initiative, and liaising with initiative partners to ensure successful project management and delivery<\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0<\/p><h6>THE IDEAL CANDIDATE IS<\/h6><ul><li>Highly organized and detail oriented<\/li><li>A whiz on Microsoft Excel and google sheets<\/li><li>Practiced in basic accounting principles<\/li><li>A gifted communicator in English, French is an asset<\/li><li>Passionate about solving climate change<\/li><li>Experienced in the philanthropic, charity or non-profit sectors administration<\/li><li>A people person<\/li><li>A team player who is self-driven and works well independently<\/li><li>Ready to travel for short assignments (up to 4 days per month)<\/li><li>Based in or near Ottawa, Toronto or Montreal (combination of remote work and office)<\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0<\/p><h6>EXPERIENCE<\/h6><ul><li>Master\u2019s degree in relevant field or equivalent training<\/li><li>3+ years of relevant work experience<\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0<\/p><h6>REPORTING<\/h6><p>This role reports to the Chief Executive Officer.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><h6>ELIGIBILITY<\/h6><p>Candidates must be based in Canada.
